Gov. Pritzker Announces Two Appointments to Agencies, Boards and Commissions
Illinois Department of Labor
Lydia Colunga-Merchant will serve as Assistant Director of the Illinois Department of Labor.* Colunga-Merchant currently serves as Leave Rights Division Manager with the Illinois Department of Labor. Previously, Colunga-Merchant served as Deputy Chief of the Workplace Rights Bureau with the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, where she investigated and litigated complaints of unfair employment practices, including discrimination, retaliation, misclassification, and wage violations. Earlier in her career, Colunga-Merchant served as Attorney with Raise the Floor Alliance and Robin Potter & Associates, P.C., where she specialized in wage and employment discrimination cases. Colunga-Merchant earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from Northwestern University and her Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law.
Lottery Control Board
Brett Finley will serve as a member of the Lottery Control Board.* Finley most recently served as Contractual Financial Analyst and Internal Auditor with the Illinois Department of Public Health. Previously, Finley served as Finance Manager and Acting Chief Financial Officer of the Illinois Department of the Lottery until he retired from the role. Earlier in his career, Finley served as Chief Internal Auditor at multiple state agencies, Bureau Chief of the Department of Healthcare and Family Services’ Bureau of Health Finance, and Audit Manager with the Illinois Department of Central Management Services. Finley earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
