West Virginia Lottery Announces Highlights from Fiscal Year 2026

WEST VIRGINIA LOTTERY ANNOUNCES HIGHLIGHTS FROM FISCAL YEAR 2026 (FY26)

CHARLESTON, W.VA. -- The West Virginia Lottery held its monthly commission meeting Wednesday, and announced several highlights from the Fiscal Year 2026 wrap up, which ended June 30.

The Lottery generated over $1.33 billion in gross revenue during FY26, resulting in $582.9 million in revenues to the state. The end of FY26 marks the sixth consecutive year that the Lottery has generated over $1 billion in revenue. This feat has been accomplished 24 of the last 25 years, the only exception being 2020- a year marred by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This was another successful year for the Lottery,” Acting Director David Bradley said. “We have accomplished over one billion in revenue for six straight years, and that in turn will create high transfers for proceeds our state can benefit from. It’s a win-win.”

The revenues for FY26 were $58 million higher than FY25, while the State received over $600 million to support a variety of programs for seniors and veterans, education, and tourism.

The biggest growth of the year was in iLottery, which continues to exceed program goals after its 2024 launch, and iGaming, which follows the trends of gaming on a national level.

During the fiscal year, the West Virginia Lottery launched national draw game Millionaire For Life, sold three $1 million Powerball tickets, and launched its 40th anniversary Back to Our Roots campaign, featuring 40 promotional stops on an eight-month tour throughout the state.
