Powerball hits $748M. Next drawing Is Monday, Aug. 3

The next Powerball jackpot on Monday, Aug. 3, is worth an estimated $748 million, with a $325.1 million cash option, after   no ticket matched all six numbers in Saturday night's drawing.

The jackpot has been  growing since May 2, when winning tickets sold in Texas and Florida split a $20 million prize. More than three months of rollovers have pushed the grand prize to one of the largest lottery jackpots of the year, just days after a Florida player won an $800 million Mega Millions jackpot.

While nobody claimed the jackpot, several players still walked away with seven-figure prizes.

A ticket sold in Virginia matched all five white balls and the Power Play to win $2 million. Five other tickets sold in California (three) , Maryland and Texas matched all five white balls to win $1 million each, according to  Powerball.

When is the next Powerball drawing?

The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 3, at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET.

Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, and can be watched live on Powerball's website.

How to play Powerball

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, Washington, DC, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Players select  five white ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. For an additional $1, players can add Power Play, which multiplies most non-jackpot prizes.

Anyone who meets the legal age requirement where tickets are sold can purchase a ticket, regardless of U.S. citizenship or residency status.

The next shot at the growing jackpot comes Monday night, when players will once again try to turn a $2 ticket into a prize worth nearly three-quarters of a billion dollars.
