POWERBALL JACKPOT CLIMBS TO $793 MILLION AS MARTINSBURG SELLS $50,000 WINNER

Charleston, W.Va. – A $50,000 Powerball ticket purchased at Walmart on Hammonds Mill Road in Martinsburg highlighted the weekend drawing, but with no perfect tickets, the jackpot continues to climb, reaching $793 million for Monday’s drawing (estimated cash value of $339.9 million).

“We’ve seen this jackpot gain momentum here recently, and it always makes for an exciting time in our industry,” Acting Director David Bradley said. “All it takes is one ticket to win, but we encourage everyone to play responsibly.”

The ticket matched four numbers plus the Powerball to reach the $50,000 prize tier, but the Power Play option was not purchased. Power Plays increase non-jackpot prizes with a randomly drawn multiplier right before the six numbers each drawing.

The Powerball jackpot was last won on August 12, marking Monday’s drawing as the 35th in the current jackpot run. It also breaks into the Top 10 all-time for Powerball jackpots.

Tickets can also be purchased at any licensed West Virginia Lottery retailer. Powerball tickets cost $2 apiece, or $3 with the Power Play option. Each ticket must be purchased by 9:59pm the date of the draw. Players can also purchase tickets digitally through the app by downloading from the App Store or Google Play and creating an account.

The winner of this ticket should sign the back and call  West Virginia Lottery headquarters for instructions on how to claim at 304-558-0500.

The Powerball jackpot has been hit a total of six times thus far in 2026. To play, choose five numbers ranging from 1 to 69 and one Power Ball number from 1 to 26.
