Google has banned most online horse racing betting advertisements in the U.S., but licensed operators can still advertise

Effective December 1, 2025, Google updated its "Gambling and games" policy for campaigns targeting the United States. The new rules specifically prohibit "online gambling promoting content" for horse racing from aggregators, affiliate platforms, and tipster websites.

Key details of the policy change:

Disallowed Content: This includes ads for betting aggregator websites, odds comparison portals, affiliate platforms that link to wagering providers, and information sites that encourage online horse race betting. Revoked Certifications: All existing Google Ads certifications for horse racing aggregators have been immediately revoked, and the company will no longer accept new applications for this type of promotion. Exception for Licensed Operators: The ban does not apply to state-licensed online gambling operators that offer direct horse race wagering services (e.g.,  FanDuel Racing, TwinSpires). These entities must continue to comply with all applicable regulations, including state-level licensing and responsible gambling disclosures.

This move is part of Google's broader effort to align with local laws and create a safer advertising environment amid increased federal scrutiny of gambling advertising practices.
