Casino gaming remains the biggest growth driver for Loto-Québec

Casino gaming remains the biggest growth driver for Loto-Québec according to the Canadian crown corporation’s latest financials.

The company declared total revenue of CA$1.53bn (€949m) for the period from 1 April-29 September 2025, half of the 2025/26 financial year.

Of this revenue, casino and gaming halls contributed $657.4m, making this the biggest revenue stream for the company – an ongoing trend which has been seen in previous quarters.

For example, its Q3 2024/25 report outlined casino and gaming hall revenue of $906.8m from April-December 2024, surpassing $703.4m in lottery revenue.

In its latest report (April-September 2025), lottery revenue is again eclipsed by casino and gaming hall revenue, coming in at $467.4m. It did, however, outperform revenue from ‘gaming establishments’ of $417.9m.

“I’m proud of our performance, which was delivered in a complex economic context and maintains an upward trend. We succeeded through our ongoing commitment to sound management and our teams’ excellent work,” said Jean-François Bergeron, CEO and President of Loto-Québec.

“We’re well-positioned to meet our annual net income target. Building on these positive results and driven by our initiatives underway, we head into the second half of the year with confidence and determination.

“While the land-based casino industry is experiencing reduced momentum, our casinos and gaming halls are progressing, both online and on-site. This shows that our varied entertainment options appeal to our customers.”

Looking into the next quarter and the new year, Loto-Québec’s plans revolve heavily around its gaming product – unsurprising given how much revenue the company is making from this vertical.

Plans include continued work on the Casino de Montréal and construction work on the Rimouski gaming hall, while calls for tender for work on the expansion of the Hôtel-Casino du Lac-Leamy are underway after being launched in November.

The company also announced plans to open a fourth gaming hall in the city of Saguenay, which will be hosted at the Delta Hotel and conference centre.
