Digitain ‘opens new opportunities’ with European Lotteries membership
Digitain is chasing leads in the lottery industry, with the company securing membership in the European Lotteries (EL) to pursue this goal.
The Armenia-headquartered betting solutions firm has become an associate member of the EL, the trade association for various state-owned national lottery companies across Europe.
For B2B firms like Digitain cultivating closer relations with these companies presents a range of commercial opportunities, not least the fact that many state lotteries also offer sports betting.
Hungary’s Szerencsejáték Zrt, France’s FDJ United, Norway’s Norsk Tipping, Sweden’s Svenska Spel and Denmark’s Danske Spil are all examples of state lotteries which also offer sports betting.
Other lottery operators, like pan-European firm Allwyn, are also looking at increasing their stake in betting companies. The firm, operator of the Czech and British National Lotteries among others, is a shareholder in Kaizen Gaming, owner of OPAP, and is in the process of buying a majority stake in Greek firm Novibet.
Ani Mkrtchyan, Chief Sales Officer at Digitain, commented: “Being welcomed into The European Lotteries as an Associate Member is a significant recognition of our commitment to delivering reliable, innovative, and fully compliant gaming solutions.
“This membership opens new opportunities for collaboration with Europe’s leading lottery operators, allowing us to further contribute to the growth and modernisation of the sector.”
Digitain’s Mkrtchyan listed several benefits the company has identified in the European lottery space. By joining EL, he added, Digitain will benefit from exchanging insights and contributing to industry initiatives.
“We are proud to be part of a network that shares our values and commitment to excellence,” he said.
Providing sports betting solutions and gaming to state-owned lotteries is a competitive space though, that much is certain. Various other B2B firms target the same sector including the likes of Kambi and EveryMatrix.
This competition can be worth the costs though, with state contracts representing a lot of value while also often being long-lasting, in some cases covering decades. This provides a stable source of revenue for the B2B firms which get the job done.
The European Lotteries representatives commented: “The European Lotteries is pleased to welcome Digitain as an Associate Member.
“Their proven expertise in gaming technology and strong commitment to responsible practices make them an invaluable partner for our members.
“We look forward to collaborating closely to drive innovation, share best practices, and support sustainable growth across the European lottery sector.”
