LOTTERY’S 1ST QUARTER TRANSFER TO EDUCATION BRINGS TOTAL RAISED TO MORE THAN $8 BILLION
NASHVILLE-- The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation (TEL) today announced its first quarter fiscal results, which brings the total raised for education since inception in 2004 to more than $8 billion. The period of July 1, 2025 – Sept. 30, 2025 saw an impressive 8.2 percent increase in Lottery for Education proceeds over the previous year’s first quarter, with a transfer of $112,114,000 for the period.
Additional details about the funds generated by the TEL since inception include:
--More than $22 billion in prizes won by players
--More than $2.1 billion paid in retailer commissions
--More than $32.5 billion in gross ticket revenues
“Students and families across the state continue to benefit from scholarships, grants and after-school programs funded with Lottery dollars, and we remain committed to working hard to continue this strong momentum,” said Lottery President and CEO Rebecca Paul.
The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation operates from the revenue it generates through the sale of its products. Since inception, more than 2.3 million scholarships and grants have been awarded to Tennessee students seeking a post-secondary education, and over 1,000 K-12 after-school programs have been funded.
