As Vice President of Sales at the Mississippi Lottery Corporation, you’ll guide the teams and initiatives that drive our retail presence and sales across the state. Reporting to the EVP of Sales & Marketing, you’ll take big-picture goals and turn them into actions that make a real difference on the ground.
This role combines leadership, analytics, and hands-on operational work. You’ll support field sales, retail services, and inside sales teams to deliver top-notch retailer support and sustained revenue growth. (Note: employees of the Mississippi Lottery Corporation are not considered state employees.)

What You’ll Do:
- Lead and execute statewide sales strategies across Sales, Retail Services, and Inside Sales Operations to drive retailer growth and performance.
- Serve as a member of the executive management team, contributing to strategic planning and operational decision-making.
- Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing sales and retail services teams, setting clear performance standards and operational goals.
- Oversee retailer recruitment initiatives, including sales tools, training, and techniques that expand market presence.
- Partner with Marketing and Communications to support promotions, special events, digital initiatives, and player engagement efforts.
- Review, analyze, and approve quarterly Account Representative incentive programs and sales performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with the Alyce G. Clarke Lottery Law and all retailer contract and regulatory requirements.
- Manage department budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial accountability.
- Analyze sales data, market insights, and operational metrics to identify growth opportunities and improve execution.
- Oversee sales collateral, retailer recruitment materials, and fleet vehicle usage for sales operations.
- Represent the Lottery in leadership, vendor, retailer, and community engagements as needed.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning efforts.
You’re a Great Fit If You:
- Ideally, you have 5+ years in the lottery industry, including 3+ years leading sales teams. That said, if your experience shows you can excel in this role, we’d love to hear from you.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred), or bring equivalent experience that demonstrates your ability to thrive in this role.
- Have a strong track record of expanding a sales base through retailer or account recruitment, market development, and relationship-building.
- Are comfortable using sales data, performance metrics, and analytics to guide decisions, identify opportunities, and drive results.
- Are comfortable managing budgets, performance metrics, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Have experience leading sales and field teams, with a history of motivating staff, developing talent, and delivering measurable performance results.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Are open to statewide travel with overnight stays, and occasional interstate travel as needed to support business initiatives.

Physical & Work Environment:
- On-site, in-person role at our Flowood, MS headquarters.
- Combination of office-based work and regular field travel using a company-provided vehicle.
- Uses standard office equipment.
- Field work may include exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
