Georgia Lottery Corporation Supports Youth Gambling Awareness Through Gift Responsibly Campaign
ATLANTA (Dec. 11, 2025) – The Georgia Lottery Corporation announced today that it has joined the 2025 Gift Responsibly Campaign as a Lottery Level 2 participant, alongside lotteries and community organizations across North America and around the world to raise awareness about the risks of underage lottery use. The campaign is organized by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and supported by the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL).
Research shows that early exposure to or participation in gambling during childhood is strongly linked to the development of gambling problems later in life. Such exposure often comes through lottery products, including tickets and scratch-offs. Often these items are given to a child by an adult who is unaware of the associated risks.
“By participating in the Gift Responsibly Campaign, we aim to promote safe, informed choices when it comes to lottery products this holiday season,” said Gretchen Corbin, CEO of the Georgia Lottery Corporation.
“Youth gambling is a growing risk that too often goes overlooked. The Gift Responsibly Campaign plays a vital role in helping families and communities understand the importance of keeping lottery products out of kids’ hands,” said Derek Longmeier, President of NCPG’s Board of Directors. “We’re grateful to the Georgia Lottery for joining this effort and working to expand education and awareness to protect young people from gambling-related harm.”
The Georgia Lottery currently holds a Level 3 certification from the World Lottery Association, recognizing its strong commitment to responsible gaming. In 2024, GLC’s efforts were further recognized with a WLA award honoring its exemplary responsible gaming submission. The Georgia Lottery also earned continued accreditation from NCPG’s Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP), which confirms adherence to best practices in online responsible gambling. iCAP is the nation’s only accreditation program dedicated to endorsing responsible online gambling standards.
