Scientific Games granted WLA gold standard certificate
Scientific Games has celebrated another milestone in its commitment to upkeeping the integrity of the lottery industry.
A Level 2 Security Control Standard certification by the World Lottery Association (WLA) was granted to three Scientific Games facilities – its new National Logistics Centre in Warrington, UK – which is partner of the UK’s National Lottery, the Scientific Games digital game development centre in Jersey of the Channel Islands, as well as its lottery retailer technology facility in Ireland.
The security standard confirms that the specific WLA member that it is awarded to has a reliable security management structure in place that provides effective protection of the information streams going through its systems – a highly marketable label for Scientific Games given its partnerships with government-regulated lotteries worldwide.
Besides the UK National Lottery, these also include the Ohio Lottery – which Scientific Games is currently in its third decade of its partnership with.
More ongoing deals across the pond include those with the North Carolina Lottery, the Florida Lottery, the Kansas Lottery, and the New Mexico Lottery. There are even more partnering lotteries in Europe, such as the Berlin Lottery and the Danish Lottery just to name a few.
In addition to the security certificate, the WLA also gave all three Scientific Games facilities a Certificate of Registration for Information Security Management System – an ISO/IEC 7001:2022-accredited standard that reflects the quality of data security in place.
Andrew Jackson, VP of Corporate Responsibility for Scientific Games, commented: “Earning these certifications is about much more than compliance — it’s about trust.
“Our customers and their players rely on us to protect data and uphold the integrity of every transaction. These certifications reflect the dedication of our teams in the UK, Channel Islands and Ireland, and across our worldwide operations, to maintaining the highest standards of excellence when it comes to information security.”
